The right product. The right fit. The right person.

You should not have to figure it out alone

A prescription, new diagnosis, injury, surgery or recovery need can leave you with many questions. You may be unsure which product is appropriate, whether a custom option is necessary, how a garment or brace should fit, or whether your insurance may help cover the cost.

At Liberty Med, we listen first. Our team reviews the recommendation you received, takes the measurements required for the product, explains the available options and helps you choose an appropriate fit for your body, comfort, daily routine and recovery needs.

Liberty Med does not replace your physician, surgeon, physiotherapist or other healthcare provider. We help you understand product recommendations, access professional fitting support and recognize when you should return to your healthcare professional.

Your appointment

What happens during a personalized fitting?

The process varies by product and service, but every appointment is designed to give you a clearer understanding of your options and how the product should be used.

  1. 1
    We discuss your needs.

We review your prescription or referral, previous products, daily activities, comfort concerns and reason for visiting.

  2. 2
    We take careful measurements.

Your fitter takes the measurements required for the relevant garment, brace, breast form or support product.

  3. 3
    We compare appropriate options.

We explain differences in sizing, material, support level, coverage, closure type and ready-to-wear versus custom products.

  4. 4
    We assess the fit.

Where appropriate, we check positioning, comfort and basic movement and make reasonable adjustments.

  5. 5
    We explain use and care.

You receive guidance on putting the product on, removing it, caring for it and recognizing when follow-up may be needed.

  6. 6
    We help with insurance documentation.

For eligible in-store purchases, we can assist with direct billing or provide the detailed receipt required by your plan.

Coverage and documentation

  • Detailed insurance receipts are available when direct billing is unavailable
  • Our team can help you understand the documentation normally requested
  • Final approval always rests with your insurance provider

Frequently asked questions

Planning your visit

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended for compression fittings, custom garments, breast forms, mastectomy bras, wigs, lymphedema-related services and specialized bracing. Some standard products may be available for walk-in purchase. Call 204-272-9640 when you are unsure.

Do I need a prescription?

Requirements depend on the product, medical purpose and your insurance plan. A prescription may be needed for medical guidance, a custom product or reimbursement. Bring your prescription or referral when available.

Does Liberty provide direct insurance billing?

Direct billing may be available for eligible in-store purchases through participating insurers. Availability depends on the insurer, product, prescription requirements, plan limitations and approval. Detailed receipts are provided when direct billing is unavailable.

Can you help me choose a compression level?

A fitter can explain the available options and help interpret a product recommendation. The medically appropriate compression level should be determined with a physician or qualified healthcare professional when required.

Do you offer custom compression garments?

Yes. Liberty offers fitting support for ready-to-wear and custom upper- and lower-extremity compression garments. Availability, measurement requirements, ordering time and coverage vary.

Can you help with lymphedema or lipedema?

Liberty provides lymphedema-related products, garment fitting and access to a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Lipedema and unexplained swelling should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can you fit a brace prescribed by my doctor or therapist?

Yes. Bring the prescription, referral or product recommendation so the team can help identify and fit an appropriate option from the products available.

What cancer-care products are available?

Available products may include breast forms, mastectomy bras, post-surgical and compression garments, wigs, head coverings, recovery accessories, scar-care products and lymphedema garments. Call ahead for a particular size, colour or appointment type.

Can I purchase products online?

Yes. Many products are available online for shipping or in-store pickup. Specialized, custom or clinically fitted products may require an appointment.
